Setting Up Your Life OS
A practical guide to building your Life OS.
Life OS is your context system for life and business. In this program, we start with business examples because they create fast, tangible wins.
What we are building
You are building a simple Life OS: a context system for your life and business that any capable AI tool can work with.
The goal is not to build a perfect system. The goal is to create enough structure that your business can start supporting you back.
Core idea:
When my life and business has context, I stop starting from scratch.
The Life OS map
Everything in your business has a home.

Your journey
This manual has five published parts. Each one builds on the last.
- Module 1 builds your Life OS foundation: your structure, your people, your projects, and your everyday context like Gmail and Calendar.
- Module 2 keeps context between sessions with a handoff Skill.
- Module 3 turns ad analytics into an automated workflow Life OS can help run.
- Module 4 creates your brand book: a simple visual reference your Life OS can use for creative work.
- Module 5 uses your brand book to create a branded video ad.
The aim is to finish with a working system that supports you back.
Before you start: choose your AI tool
This manual is designed for any capable AI tool that can read and write files in your Life OS folder.
It has been tested with Claude Code and Codex.
Before you begin, make sure your chosen AI tool can access the folder where you want to build your Life OS.
If you are not comfortable setting this up yourself, ask your trainer to walk you through it.

If your Life OS goes off track
Think of Life OS as a system you are training. It may make mistakes early on, such as suggesting the wrong file name, placing something in a folder that does not match how you think, or moving ahead before checking with you.
Your job is not to avoid every mistake. Your job is to use those mistakes to teach Life OS how your business works. Every time you correct a recommendation, you are training it to get closer to your preferences next time.
At first, you will keep a closer eye on things. Every prompt in this manual asks your AI tool to show you its plan and wait for your approval before acting. That is intentional. It gives you control while Life OS learns how you like things done.
As you work together more, you will naturally feel when to ease off. Some people stay hands-on forever. Others let Life OS run entire workflows once it has proven it understands the pattern. There is no right speed. Go at whatever pace feels safe for you.
If you ever want to start over completely, close your AI tool, open Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows), and delete your Life OS folder. Then create a new folder and begin again. Nothing is lost except what was in that folder.
If something feels off at any moment, copy and paste this prompt:
Stop. Show me what you've done so far and wait for my next instruction.
Your AI tool will stop, summarise what it has done, and wait for you to decide what happens next. You can then:
- Ask it to undo the last action.
- Ask it to explain something before continuing.
- Correct the mistake so it learns for next time.
- Give it a new instruction.
- Ask your trainer for help.
You are always in control. You do not need to memorise this. It is here whenever you need it.
